I first met Ariff exactly two years ago at a Tribeless session, where I learned to empathize with strangers through the stories we told each other. In many ways, that evening was a transformative experience, a boon for my personal and spiritual growth. And though it may seem hyperbolic, I wouldn't hesitate to use the exact same word to describe Ariff.
To me, the best kind of therapist or life coach is someone who is wise, pragmatic, relatable, and kind. From the moment you meet him, you will be struck by Ariff's eloquence and charisma. And by the time you finish conversing with him, whatever the topic may be, you will eventually come to the conclusion that Ariff is larger than life, through the sheer power of his penetrating insights into yourself. And yet, Ariff will never make you feel small for not knowing, ever.
When I come to Ariff for help, he often says to me that he only "pats someone on the back and show them the way." There's a lot of truth and value to this statement. Ariff knows how to open your inner eye to the things within you that already know, but do not yet put into practice. And he will do so gently and without any trace of judgement, so that you will feel truly empowered to begin the difficult journey of changing yourself.
In a country where therapy is still frowned upon by most, it is so refreshing to be able to seek help and wisdom from someone who is well-versed in both the subtleties of modern culture and the human psyche like Ariff. It makes it so much easier to overcome any fear, shame, or guilt you might have about therapy, when the person you'll be talking to is so chill and always endeavors to understand you the way you want to be understood before anything else. I'm very blessed that my journey to discover myself thus far has been both transformative and fun, by virtue of knowing this amazing man.
